Why I Love Being A Therapist
I love normalizing what my clients are going through so that they know that they are not alone.
The Problem I Help Clients Overcome
Clients oftentimes like to avoid any circumstance that is going to evoke a negative emotion, growing their anxiety. I normalize the difficulty in facing these uncomfortable emotions and let my clients know that it will be a gradual process.
I provide education on the Cycle of Anxiety and the importance of disrupting the avoidance behavior. As a result, clients make gradual and sustainable progress in their anxiety. They are better able to interact with others and feel a reduction of stress throughout the day.
After Working With Me
I hope my clients walk away knowing that what they are going through is normal. Everyone goes through similar things and it's okay to struggle.
Experience
Jessica has worked with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, school and work-related stress, interpersonal conflict, and mood disorders. She has spoken at events supporting individuals who have experienced thoughts of suicide and has volunteered at Brooke's Place, assisting with support groups and counseling for those navigating grief and loss.
